We are in the joy of reaching the Miraj Kandili, which falls on the twenty-seventh night of the month of Rajab, within three months, and of realizing this blessed night.

The name of this holy night, Miraç, literally means “ladder”, “place to ascend”, “the highest rank” and symbolizes the ascension of our Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) to the sky.

It is a journey full of wisdom in which our Beloved Prophet, who was sent as a mercy to the worlds, ascended from the Masjid al-Haram to Bayt al-Maqdis in one night and from there to the sky where he was accepted into the presence of Allah. This sublime journey is the greatest of miracles.

As the ummah of the blessed prophet who experienced this blessed event and witnessed this great miracle, we cannot express enough gratitude for being his ummah and we cannot express enough pride in this situation.

Miracle is full of miracles like its name. Our Prophet (pbuh) said, “There is a day and night in the month of Rajab, which is the 27th night of Rajab. Whoever fasts on that day and spends the night in prayer will be as if he fasted for a hundred years and prayed for a hundred years.” In order to attain these miracles, this night should be spent in prayer and our ego should be chained and good wishes and hopes should be brought to light.

As the ummah of our Prophet (pbuh), for both the future of our country and our own salvation, we must protect the sacred relics left by the most beloved one, our Glorious Book and our religion, and follow in his footsteps, work to be individuals worthy of him, and invite people to goodness, beauty, love, respect and tolerance. We must exhibit attitudes and behaviors that will perpetuate our unity and solidarity on behalf of our country and nation, and reinforce the good and beautiful feelings and thoughts within us.

I hope that it will be a productive night where our sins are forgiven for all our believing brothers and sisters, and that it will be a means of goodness and beauty. I hope that our Miraj Kandil will be blessed for our entire ummah.
